Bill Llewellyn from the Fairfield club explained the new international project of building a playground at a primary school in Uganda that his club is sponsoring.  He is visiting many clubs in our district in hopes that he can raise additional support for their project.

Our guest speaker was Isabel (Izzy) Kalb, a senior at Greenwich Academy.  Izzy was our delegate and scholarship winner who attended the Girls State Conference last summer at Eastern State University in Willimantic, Ct.  She said, “it was one of the best times of her life” and was very proud to have been asked to return this summer as a jr counselor.  Approximately 200 girls from across the state attended.  Izzy described her experience as a crash course in politics and a great learning process.  She was selected to run for “governor” but lost by 3 votes. She thanked the club for sponsoring her participation in the program.

Dieter won the weekly pot but not the Queen.
